Amsterdam's pop-up restaurant Eenmaal, the world's first solo-dining restaurant offering tables for one, is on its way to the UK.

The temporary Dutch restaurant, which seats 20 single diners and offers a pre-fixed four-course meal, opened in the Netherlands in April.

And now founder Marina van Goor is eyeing up a permanent space for the venture in the UK capital.

"I am getting such positive feedback from London...and also a lot of requests about when we will come to the UK," said van Goor in an interview with bighospitality.co.uk.

"Because London is a very busy city, the need for an excused disconnection from time to time is growing. I would love to start a permanent venue in London if I find the right collaboration and investors to do so. I am sure it will work in London."

Dining alone is on the rise in the UK with one if four diners eating out alone more than once a month, according to hospitality consultanting and research firm survey by HospitalityGEM.
