1. The hair mask

Winter is the time when the radiators come on, air gets dry and everything, including your hair, starts to look and feel a little parched. Don’t worry, though: applying a mask regularly will help restore your hair to its former glory. We love the 72 Hair Intense Replenishing Mask (£24.99), which offers the ultimate in rejuvenative luxury and smells gorgeously fresh, containing avocado oil, collagen and silk. You need to leave it on for 10-15 minutes, but this’ll just encourage you to stop and relax while the magic happens.

2. The hot cloth cleanser

Nothing makes skin feel cleaner and more refreshed than a hot cloth cleanser. And, during the colder months, the comfort of a warm muslin and an indulgent cleanser can work wonders on dehydrated skin. Our go-to has to be the beauty editors’ classic, Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish (£16), which contains indulgent cocoa butter, leaving skin feeling balanced and refined, but not dry.

3. The facial peel

Exfoliating is part of our beauty routine we often neglect. Take the time out to smooth on Elemental Herbology’s facial glow radiance peel (£42) – an elixir of ingredients including Manuka honey, papaya, orange peel and vitamin E. We love the transformative powers of this mask as well as the zesty scent. After a hard day at work and battling the elements on the way home, it’s reassuring to know we’re cleansing off the day’s grime.

4. The body oil

Body oil is wonderful – not only does a little go a long way, but your skin feels instantly nourished when it’s applied. Ark Conditioning Oil (£35) has a restorative and relaxing scent: slightly sweet, nutty, and woody. Slathering this on after a shower and pottering around in a towel robe feels like a mini body treatment in itself.

5. The sheet mask

One of life’s little pleasures during the winter months is taking a long soak in the bath and creating an at-home sanctuary. Having tried lots of sheet masks (which are perfect to pop on while you’re having a soak), we favour products containing hyaluronic acid, which seems to leave our skin firmer and softer. The Rituals Moisture Boost Bio Cellulose Sheet Mask (£9.50) is infused with hyaluronic acid, as well as moisturising serum and aloe vera, the perfect antidote to stressed and unhappy skin.
