But what if you’re not about to have kids anytime soon because you don’t know how to put an actual bun in the oven, let alone a baby? I’m talking about putting my own baby in the oven… Christmas is doomed.

But then, a friend said she’d been feeling the same, and had rectified it by doing stockings for her parents.

So I’ve been raiding charity shops, scouring online and collecting bits and bobs for my parents’ stockings. This is the most excited I’ve been about Christmas in years.

We’re going to jingle bells outside their window and place the stockings in their room with ninja stealth. We both really hope neither of them reads Stylist. But either way, we’re going to shake things up – and if you’re feeling a little less magical this year, why not do the same?
