It’s been over 20 years since Sex And The City first aired, but in 2019 the show’s iconic hero Carrie Bradshaw is back in our lives.
For months, we’ve endured a will-they-won’t-they tug of war with the possibility of seeing Sex And The City 3 up on the big screen. From rumours of a finished script to disagreements between cast members, one thing looks certain: a film is (sadly) not on its way.
Thankfully, we’re still going to see Carrie Bradshaw slip back into a pair of Manolos and twirl her chiffon tutu once again this year. Earlier this week Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram to share the unexpected news with her fans.
“My old friend. She is making a brief reappearance,” Parker wrote, accompanied by a short clip. “Partnering with a great brand and supporting a cause we all care about. More to come.”
Her outfit choice already has us reaching for our SATC boxsets. Wearing a gold lame jacket, turquoise chiffon skirt, killer cream heels – all complete with diamond encrusted accessories – it’s safe to say Bradshaw is back. And she’s bringing the fashion hit we need in 2019.
Now, it turns out, Bradshaw is replacing her cosmopolitans with Stella Artois - for a good cause. In the video, she muses, “I couldn’t help but wonder. Wasn’t it obvious? You make a little change to do a lot of good,” as a bus with the sign “1 bottle = 1 month of clean water” drives by.
“Enjoying Stella Artois helps provide access to clean water for someone in need. If Carrie was made aware of this important and fantastic partnership and initiative, I’m sure she wouldn’t waste a beat putting down her Cosmo and opting for a Stella, and I know that she would encourage all of her friends and audience to do the same,” Parker said in a statement.
Stella Artois’s partnership with Water.org (co-founded by actor Matt Damon) for the Pour it Forward campaign aims to end the global water crisis by donating a month of clean water access to communities in need.
Let’s all reach for our SATC boxsets once more…
