Ahead of the Savage x Fenty show’s debute on Amazon this week, Rihanna has given us a glimpse of what happened backstage.
What was it really like to stage the most highly-anticipated New York Fashion Week moment of 2019? Well, Rihanna has given fans a sneak peek at what happened behind the scenes at the Savage x Fenty show in a new video. Stylist’s Billie Bhatia reported from the show at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn earlier this month, describing it as a “lesson in representation and a celebration of female empowerment”.
Mobile phones were banned from the event, which only added to the buzz around it. Everything was very hush-hush because the show is going to be available to stream exclusively on Amazon when it is released on Friday 20 September.
But, ahead of its release, Rihanna has shared two videos, with one showing what happened behind the scenes.

“I’m ready,” declares Rihanna as the show is about the start. She then keeps her cool as models and stars run around backstage (which looks like total chaos). Bella Hadid, Alek Wek, Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls with Normani and Slick Woods were just some of the women to take part.
The singer and designer then shared a longer video showing the performances that took place throughout the night. Halsey, Migos, DJ Khaled, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Fat Joe, Fabolous and Tierra Whack all took part in the epic show.
In more exciting Savage x Fenty news, Rihanna recently talked about how she would love to collaborate on her fashion line with Lizzo.
“Gosh, I love Lizzo. She’s so badass,” she exclaimed on the red carpet of her NYFW fashion show. “I would collaborate with her on the lights for this interview right now, like Lizzo is so badass,” the original bad gal continued.
“She is everything that Savage stands for. A confident woman, no matter what size, color, shape. Your attitude is what makes you savage. It’s the confidence that you have in yourself and it’s the confidence that you can give off to people who look like you and feel like you and those are the people that identify with the brand.”
