Ship Your Enemies Glitter which sends anonymous glitter bombs to people you want to annoy,

Mathew Carpenter, a 22-year-old Australian, launched the mischievous website at the start of January and was quickly inundated with orders.

Carpenter, overwhelmed by the number of "soulless people who get their jollies off by sending glitter in envelopes" soon put the site up for sale, describing his AU$9.99 (£5) glitter parcels as a "horrible product".

A bidding war broke out for the site on online marketplace Flippa, sending the price up to $70,000, before an anonymous buyer snapped up the business for $85,000.

That wasn't before Carpenter took more than $20,000 in sales from people desperate to see their enemies picking glitter up off their carpets for weeks to come.

Shortly before selling up, he wrote: "Hi guys, I’m the founder of this website. Please stop buying this horrible glitter product - I’m sick of dealing with it. Sincerely, Mat."

Customers who placed orders (you know who you are) will still see their targets hit with an envelope full of sparkly bits, though Carpenter has warned "there will be a bit of a delay with delivery times, as the site somehow got popular."
