One of the most powerful weapons we have in our collective fight against sexual violence is our voices.

So all hail the lead singer of British band Architects who has – rightly – been named a hero, after stopping the band’s show to call out a man who he saw sexually assault a woman in the audience.

Halting the band’s set at the Lowlands music festival in The Netherlands last Friday, Sam Carter slammed the “disgusting” incident and described how he saw the man “grab at” the breast of a woman who was crowdsurfing.

He went on to make his feelings on the issue perfectly clear with an expletive-filled speech, in which he blasted the “piece of s**t” assaulter and insisted that such behaviour has no place at music festivals.
