Strength training is becoming more popular than ever. As wellness and fitness becomes an ever-growing part of the zeitgeist, we’ve taken a look at the women we admire for tips on how they stay strong in the gym. It makes sense – for many actors and social influencers, being fit and healthy is a big part of their jobs, and with access to personal trainers and the best gyms, they’re often ahead of the curve.
So if you want a little inspiration and motivation, and don’t fancy looking further than your phone to find it, check out these seriously impressive weight workouts being done by our favourite celebrities.
Each example works a different part of the body, with some just using free weights, while others combine resistance and weight machines too. So, you can try them out in the safety of your own home or head to the gym to give them a go.

Women’s wrestling is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, thanks in part to Alison Brie’s Netflix show Glow. Alison trained with Jason Walsh during season one,and has taken her strength workouts to the next level ever since. Jason recently told Shape: “We would start with a 10-pound weight vest and work up to a 20-pound weight vest, then a kettlebell around the waist.”
Hilary does not mess about when it comes to her workouts. She uses a huge range of smaller weights and dumbbells on the gym floor to work every inch of her body, this is just a taster of what her Instagram has in store.
Ashley is big on strength. Her impressive videos feature a lot of deadlifts like this one - but remember it’s not about the weight, so don’t push yourself too far too fast.
Gabrielle likes to use a mix of equipment to get results, including free weights, resistance bands and machines. You can check her videos out at home, or take them into the gym with you for inspiration.
Eva is all about building tone on her body, and you’ll usually find her in the gym to do it. Check out her Instagram for a wide range of strength training ideas.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracee gives fans an insight into her routine with snappy videos posted to Instagram - taking us through each move and showing everyone exactly how to try it (safely) at home.
Kate is a huge fan of using resistance bands, we love how she incorporates them into her workouts to benefit her technique.
