The Annual Anchorman Party, Bloomsbury Lanes - London
Wild times are guaranteed at the ever-cool Bloomsbury Lanes bowling and party venue this weekend, with the return of its Annual Anchorman Party. As well as a screening of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, they'll be scotch, ribs, a chat-up line competition and a live jazz flute session.
Thekla 30th birthday series boat party, Bristol Harbour - Bristol
There's only one place to be in Bristol come Friday night and that's on-board the legendary party boat Thekla, which is celebrating 30 years in Bristol Harbour. The city's finest live music acts and DJs are lined up to bring the night alive, including Rozi Plain, Gravenhurst, Dub Mafia, Seasfire, The Ramona Flowers and more.
Malaysia Kitchen Spring Market, South Bank - London
Malaysian cuisine is having a moment right now and there's no better place to sample the delights of roti canai, laksa, fish head curry and more than at the pop-up Malaysian Kitchen Spring Market on the walkway between Waterloo Bridge and the OXO Tower. A Play, a Pie and a Pint at the West Yorkshire Playhouse - Leeds
What's better than a play, you say? Why, a play with a pie and a pint. This weekend, the ever-popular Play, Pie, Pint series returns to the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Leeds' showcase theatre institution is putting on a performance of Skeleton Wumman, a contemporary drama with live music and draws on traditional creation myths, sea legends and characters from folklore.
Hackney flea market, Stoke Newington - London
A veritable treasure trove of goodies are to be found at Hackney flea market at Stoke Newington church. Peruse your way through vintage dresses, film posters, antique luggage, old-school electricals, jet set junk and a whole lot more. Items vary from salvaged to couture and they'll be a DJ playing vinyl tracks to complete the retro effect.
Brighton Festival 2014 - Brighton
Culture vultures will delight in the opening of the Brighton Festival this weekend, with exhibitions, performances, talks and parades talking place across the city (many are free). Watch out for Murikamification performance inspired by the magical, surreal stories of the Japanese author Haruki Murakami and a creative writing workshop by novelist and screenwriter Catherine Johnson.
The House of Peroni, Lincoln's Inn Field - London
The House of Peroni is back and bigger this weekend, bringing an extravaganza of contemporary Italian style and design to the heart of Holborn. Inspired by the spirit of 1963, when Italian culture went global, this riotous event is contained over four floors of a house, with visual installations, a series of immersive workshops (including Barista skills and silk scarf printing), top tunes and cocktail mixology at a concrete bar inspired by 1960s Milan.

London's first ever Bark Off and Dog Show will be held on Hampstead Heath this weekend, with four-legged contestants putting their best paws forward to be crowned Miss or Mr Heath, Best Rescue, Golden Oldie or Cutest Pup. They'll also be a baking contest, with competitors entering their own dog-themed cakes or homemade doggy treats.
