Although the series was certainly revolutionary for its time, focusing on themes like feminism, female friendship and sexual liberation, it has received criticism for its lack of diversity and problematic messages.

The convention will look at all of these aspects, featuring presentations and talks on a range of subjects, from speakers and writers with academic and journalistic backgrounds.

A panel discussion will also look at Sex at the City’s feminist legacy, it’s politics, the psychogeography of the city, and, a pretty central element of the show; sex.

The very first episode of Sex and the City will be aired (remember when Carrie used to talk to the camera?), accompanied by an annotated discussion by critics.

And come evening and it’ll be time for, you guessed it, lots and lots of cocktails.

Superfans and organised fun enthusiasts will be thrilled to know there’ll be a quiz, so you can battle it out with those who also know their Manolo Blahniks from their Jimmy Choos.

The event will be held on the 8 September, from 10.30am to 10pm and tickets are priced between £5.98 and £22.15.
