Published

The first official pictures of Princess Charlotte's christening have been released.

The photographs, taken by Mario Testino on Sunday after Princess Charlotte's christening at Sandringham House in Norfolk, were released on Twitter by Kensington Palace.

They include a group photograph of the entire family, with The Queen sitting alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge holding Prince George and Princess Charlotte, surrounded by the rest of the family including the Middletons, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall.

Another picture shows the Duke and Duchess outside on the grounds holding George and Charlotte with big grins.

A particularly touching portrait shows the Duchess looking adoringly at her young daughter.

Mario Testino shared one of the photographs on his Instagram account, saying: "I am overwhelmed an honoured to be chosen to take these portraits on the occasion of Princess Charlotte's christening, to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much.'
