The Oscars 2016 nominations announced: see who's up for an award

The nominations for the 2016's Academy Awards are here.
John Krasinski and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs took to the stage in Los Angeles today to announce who is in the running for Hollywood's most coveted accolade.
In the best actress category, Cate Blanchett is up for a gong for her role in Carol, alongside Jennifer Lawrence for uplifting drama Joy, Brie Larson in Room, Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn and Charlotte Rampling in 45 Years.
Over in the best supporting actress category, Kate Winslet secured a nod for her performance in the biopic Steve Jobs.
Other big contenders for this year include The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio, The Danish Girl starring Eddie Redmayne, financial crisis drama The Big Short and Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies.
There were no real surprises but Fifty Shades of Grey did bag a place in the nominations hall of fame, for best original song - Earned It performed by The Weeknd.
The 88th Oscars awards ceremony takes place on 28 February and will be hosted by Chris Rock.
