Facebook, who opened up 500 new UK positions this year, is narrowly beaten to the top spot by computing company Salesforce, where employees earn a median salary of between 75 and 110K, depending on bonuses.

While the figures do not take gender into account, Salesforce is known to be pioneering in terms of its emphasis on equality. The company has a support system called Ohana (meaning family in Hawaii) which is made up of groups established by their team members to nurture diversity and “make equality a reality”, according to its website. There is a Women’s Network, promoting gender equality, as well as racial specific groups, LBTQ and ability inclusion.

However, as it stands, Salesforce’s global workforce is made up of 30.1% women, with 19.4% women on the leadership team, according to Fast Company.

Comparably, figures from 2016 show that at Facebook 27% of those in senior leader positions are women, while 29% of their new hires were female that year.
