Single pet lovers the world over know that there is one non-negotiable when looking for a mate. No matter how charming that prince (or princess) might be, if they aren't a fellow animal fan then they needn't waste their time.
Thankfully, new app Tindog is looking to save us all a lot of time - as it puts your four-legged friend at the forefront of the dating process.
The free app, which launched last week, allows you to upload pictures of your dog and, if you choose, yourself with your dog.
Thereafter, you can browse pictures of any other canine pets in your area and use the swipe-left for 'pass' and swipe-right for a 'like' function that Tinder has become known for.
Once you are 'liked' in return, you can message a dog owner and arrange a quick walk in the park or a pet-play date for your companions, all the while getting to know a stranger.
While the app lends itself to dating, users can also use it to simply make friends with fellow animal lovers in their area.
“Dogs bring so much joy and love, that they really have the power to connect us. That’s why we wanted to make it easy for dog lovers to meet new people around them who feel the same way,” founder & CEO Julien Muller said in a press release.
“Whether it’s building new friendships or even making a love connection, Tindog is a great way to expand your social circle with others who love man’s best friend just as much as you do.”
