The Stylist office is a regular battleground of beverage spillages. Coffee, tea, water, Diet Coke and orange juice – all are regularly knocked all over our desks, soaking everything in sight and leaving us to ‘air out’ our keyboard for an hour and run to the kitchen in search of paper towels.
Maybe we should declutter our desks. Or ask HR for a beast of a table to work on that allows ample room for beverages. Or, we could invest in this, the world’s first wipe clean, washable keyboard.
A genius invention by Logitech, the Washable Keyboard K310 can be submerged in up to 11 inches of water, so unless you have an actual flood in your office, you can keep tap tapping away at your desk. And you can wash out the gross build-up of sandwich crumbs and dust that clog up most keyboards (no matter how clean you are).
Drainage holes at the back mean it dries quickly, and the characters are laser-printed on to the keys so they won’t rub off – perfect if you’re extra-clumsy like us. We realise we’re getting quite excited about a keyboard, but this is one of the best office inventions since the pen cutlery we discovered earlier this year.
The keyboard only works with PCs at the moment, so if you use a MAC you’re just going to have to be extra careful until they bring one out for you too.
