In line with the newest tradition of big brands creating charming Christmas adverts, Apple have released their festive campaign for Christmas 2014.
Following on from the heartwarming John Lewis advert, 'Monty The Penguin', and Sainsbury's popular offering, set during World War I, Apple's new ad is titled 'The Song' and tells the story of a teenage girl using her Apple products to create a gift for her grandmother at Christmas.
The girl finds a recording of her grandmother, Valerie, singing a jazz standard Love Is Here To Stay for her late husband Raymond, while searching through old records. The recording appears to have been lost and the girl decides to recreate it, using her Apple computer.
We see the young girl listening to the song over and over, trying to get it right as her family prepare for the festive season.
Then, on Christmas Day, Valerie finds a handmade card and a digitally remastered recording, A Duet, to which the granddaughter has added her own vocals, as well as a collection of touching photographs of herself and her husband.
The advert is a lovely reminder of how technology can unite rather than separate older and younger people.
Apple have released Christmas adverts for the last few years - and their products are some of the most-bought presents each year. Last year, their offering was called 'Misunderstood', and was about a boy who seemed to be wrapped up in his iPhone and ignoring his family, but turned out to be making a touching Christmas video for his family.
