What are you free to do when you’re not dating? Spoiler alert: a lot of amazing stuff.

For too long Christmas and the surrounding festivities have been the territory of couples (or so it feels at times). But now, Twitter says no more.

So if you’re in need of a little reminder of the joys of singledom, Twitter has got your back with a new hashtag, #WhenImNotDating.

Hundreds of people have taken to social media to share tales of what they do when they aren’t in a relationship. From relaxing with a long soak in the tub to building self-esteem, spending money that would have been destined for a partner’s present to simply enjoying a free social calendar, the results are empowering and self-affirming.

While of course, all these positives and more can be enjoyed when you do have a partner, there’s no harm in a little reminder of the importance of spending time on yourself – especially if your recent romances have been emotionally draining.

Scroll below for some of the bonuses offered up by the Twittersphere (and feel free to crack into that Terry’s Chocolate Orange knowing that you’re under absolutely no obligation to give away a single segment).

“The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself.” Carrie Bradshaw.
