Your top five films

Published

When we revealed Stylist's top 50 must see movies, we set you the difficult task of choosing your all-time favourite. Thousands of you voted, and we can now reveal which films you voted as your top five. And the winners are...

1. Dirty Dancing

2. Amelie

3. Pretty Woman

4. The Wizard of Oz

5. Breakfast at Tiffany's

Dirty Dancing took the lead early on thanks to fans like Kathy-Jane, who said that the film "appeals to women across multiple generations". However, French favourite Amelie gave Baby and Jonny a run for their money, only losing out in the final stages of the vote. Reader Natasha said of the film: "It reminds me that I'm not the only one who dreams of making a difference to other people's lives and that if I had the courage to do something, it could make a difference to my life too."

While movies from the '80s onwards scooped the top three spots, a couple of old classics also made the list, including The Wizard of Oz - a film so iconic that it made our cover. Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany's also proved to have a place in your hearts - as voter Kym says, "What woman hasn't wanted to turn up at Tiffany's and emulate that iconic pose?"

Thank you to everyone who voted, and we'll be contacting the winner of all 50 DVDs via email soon - so watch your inbox!
