It’s official: 2019 will go down in history as the year of the Zara polka dot dress.

If you step outside and walk down the street right now, we’re willing to bet good money that you’ll see at least one person wearing the spotty frock – if not three. It’s unsurprising, then, that its monumental popularity has been immortalised in news articles and hashtags: heck, it even has its own Instagram account.

We here at Stylist are not immune to the dress’ charms. In fact, we spoke to a psychologist about why so many of us have bought into the trend, continuing to purchase the same piece despite knowing that so many other people already own it.

And now the spotty number’s legendary status has been taken to a whole new level, as it’s now become a (deep breath, everyone) wedding dress, too.
