The most important thing about your wedding day is that you do it your way - whether that be with 200 friends helping toast your new life, or just you, your partner and your dog, as is the case for Amanda Seyfried and her new husband Thomas Sadoski.

The couple managed to avoid a media circus over their nuptials by eloping in secret and tying the knot last weekend.

Sadoski broke the news on The Late Late Show with James Corden telling him:"We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing."

He revealed that their dog Finn was the only witness and that they took him for a walk through the country before returning home after the ceremony.

The actor said that the day was “perfect” and told Corden: "Listen, she's the person I love, admire, respect most in the world.”

"It was everything that it should be," he added. "It was just the two of us talking to each other."

31-year-old Seyfried has previously hinted that she would be keeping her wedding low-key. Earlier this year, she told Vogue Australia: "I don't want to be the centre of attention.

"I get to go to premieres and get dressed up all the time. I went to the Met Gala last year in a wedding gown designed by Riccardo Tisci; I've played a bride a billion times."

Though she insisted: "I've never been excited by anything more in my life. And ready."

Seyfried and Sadsoski met in 2015 while working on The Way We Get By and became a couple while working on The Last Word. They are now expecting their first child together.
