Comedian Amy Schumer recently tied the knot with Chris Fischer and her wedding vows are as hilarious and empowering as you’d expect.

Amy Schumer recently surprised us all by revealing she’d got married earlier this month. Some may say it happened quickly, but Schumer strikes us as a woman who’s always known what she wants, and goes for it.

And, thankfully, while appearing as a guest on Nikki Glaser’s podcast You Up, Schumer decided to share some details from the Big Day.

“Part of the thing that’s good about us getting married so quickly is that we’re so in love,” says Schumer. While comparing her relationship with Chris Fischer to her friends’, she notes: “Every girl I know, if they get proposed to they’re like, ‘Oh now? Now that I can’t have kids?’”

And Schumer even shared a snippet from her hilarious wedding vows.

“Mine sucked! I thought mine were good, I wrote mine in like, 20 minutes. I was crying when I wrote them, but his [Fischer] blew me out of the water so hard,” says Schumer.

“I remember a joke from yours,” Glaser says. “You go, ‘You make me laugh, you make me smile, you make me feel loved, you make me food.’”

Schumer continued: “In my vows I go, ‘But I promise I’ll keep going down on you, even though everyone tells me I won’t.’ And his were like, heckling me too. He was like, ‘The other day I lost a tennis match and you called me a f***ing loser. ‘It was all like, awful s**t.”

To be fair, we can’t exactly imagine Schumer sticking to the traditional vows by saying she’d ‘obey’ her husband.

And, of course, her best friend Jennifer Lawrence was in attendance, admitting that she cried the whole way through the ceremony as Schumer married Fischer, a chef.

“It was beautiful,” Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight, while promoting her new film, Red Sparrow. “It was very sudden.”

Lawrence continued: “I was sobbing the whole times, because his vows were stunning. It’s when two people really love each other and they really mean it, it shows, and it was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing time. I couldn’t be happier for them.”

We’re willing to bet it was a fun wedding.
