There are some high-profile couples people can’t seem to help but be invested in, and Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have always had a core of fans branding them #relationshipgoals.
The pair announced the end of their eight-year marriage earlier this year, and now Faris has addressed the slightly bizarre idea of being idolised by others as an example of true love – saying she believes it’s because people could see their feelings toward each other were and are genuine.
Asked about the public reaction to their separation, Faris told people.com: “It’s understandable that people seemed so invested in our happiness together.
“All I can say about that is, it’s all true, that we truly adore each other, and we love each other, I think it still comes through.”
She and Pratt announced their split with a joint statement in August, saying they were “really disappointed” but adding, “We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
Speaking to People, Faris added that she and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Pratt, who have son Jack together, still have a good relationship.
“There is still so much laughter in our lives together, and he is so proud of me, still,” she said.
“We watched each other grow, and he still cracks me up all the time. And I think I crack him up – unless he’s a really good actor and great at faking laughter.”
Faris is releasing a book, Unqualified, later this month, in which Pratt has written the foreword.
