Army Bras for Swedish recruits

Published

A military college in Sweden has confirmed its support of female soldiers by announcing that they will be issued with bras as part of their official military equipment list.

The Swedish military, which has included female soldiers for 30 years, faced major problems supplying appropriate bras, with most having to buy their own.

The new rule also allows female soldiers to send their underwear to be laundered with the rest of their uniform.

Sizing issues aside, the move has been hailed as a milestone for gender equality in the military
