We’ve seen them together plenty on Instagram but, last night, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made their first red carpet appearance since welcoming their one-year-old daughter.

The pair, who became parents to James in December 2014, stepped out together at the New York premiere of Reynolds’ new movie Deadpool and, as always, looked totally loved up.

Blake wore a one-shouldered satin dress which was embellished with unusual coloured rhinestones.

The last time the couple were pictured together was way back in October 2014 when Lively showed off her baby bump in stunning fashion.

Earlier the actor, who is busy promoting his current movie, revealed that he was planning something “spectacular” to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

''I've been in about 15 countries in 20 days. But I will come up with something spectacular,” he said.

''I've done things where I've like flown halfway across the world to just see my wife for a day because you've got to do that.''

Previously Reynolds has talked about how happy he is with his little family. ''I'm in a great place. I have a family and a little girl, and I honestly couldn't be happier right now. There's just no place I'd rather be, it's the ultimate trump card.”

Even the less rewarding elements of being a father seem to bring joy to him. "I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time," he said.

Blake Lively also loves a bit of a gush, describing motherhood as "a big, fun learning curve and we appreciate every moment because we know how lucky we are to have our family."

Last night was a real family affair, with Blake Lively also bringing her mum Elaine along to see her husband's new movie.
