Blake Lively unveils her wedding ring – and it’s pretty unusual

Blake Lively isn’t just an actor and lifestyle blogger, it seems the former Gossip Girl star is also an appreciator of art – and, this week, attended a paint party at the New Orleans studio of her favourite artist, Ashley Longshore.

However, despite sharing photos of her arty excursion on Instagram, her left ring finger attracted far more attention than her skills with a paintbrush.

In the first snap, the 29-year-old uploaded a shot of herself posing alongside her handiwork, dressed in a crisp and paint-free overall.

“Never too old to bedazzle,” she captioned the shot.

To begin with, Lively had her hands firmly tucked out of sight, but in the next snap spread her fingers out to show they were covered in colourful paint, also revealing her quirky wedding ring.

The piece, which Lively wore in place of her 12-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring, is pretty simple: a squiggled ‘Mrs R’ forged from yellow-gold, punctuated with a white diamond.

Designed by Alison Lou, the ‘Mrs’ ring costs $950 (approximately £760) – and can be customised by anyone wishing to recreate Lively’s look.

Think white, yellow, or rose gold, any number of precious stones, and, of course, all the letters of the alphabet. The ring also comes in a ‘Ms’ version.

Speaking to Marie Claire last year, Lively revealed why she decided to marry Reynolds – with whom she has two children – in the first place.

“I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life,” she said. “That was the biggest thing to me. I’d never known anything like the friendship that I had with him.

“I could like him as much as I loved him.”

She went on to add: “All my eggs are in one basket, and that’s my family. That’s where my heart is. That’s where my everything is. That’s the thing that I feel most protective of and the thing that I feel is the most exposed when I feel exploited.”
