A mother's Facebook post about trying to cope with post-natal depression while juggling the realities of being a “good mum” has gone viral.

Australian blogger Constance Hall, a 32-year-old mother of two, took to the social media site to salute fellow mums who are struggling with post-natal depression, calling them “coping queens”. She wrote, “Too often strength and weakness are confused, strength is asking for help. You are so strong.”

The post, which has currently amassed 224,000 likes, also sympathises with those who struggle to comply to a “constable mothers group” ideal of the perfect mum, telling them they “don't need to spend an eternity cleaning your house” or worry about losing their baby weight.

The words have clearly struck a chord with her readers, with one commenting, “As a mother of 8, I can't tell you how refreshing it is to read your words and think ... Hey I'm not a failure”, while one simply wrote, “fucking amen”.

Hall signs the post from, “A fellow mum, who's days are full of mammoth fails and micro victories, yet who's heart still manages to repeatedly explode for the mini army of Love all day.”
