Chrissy Teigen is not here for #RelationshipGoals – especially on her birthday.
From leaking her private texts to her husband John Legend to telling the world why she refused to let Legend break up with her, Chrissy Teigen is not much interested in being known as one half of the ‘perfect couple’.
So when she saw a gushing message from Legend for her birthday (30 November), she was never going to respond with a similarly loved-up post.
Legend took to Instagram, posting a picture of Teigen and writing: “Happy birthday, to my wonderful wife Chrissy Teigen. I’m so happy you were born! You bring so much light to my life and to the lives of everyone who knows you. I love you so much! Happy birthday!”
While fans oohed and aahed over the sentiment, Teigen didn’t waste any time in replying: “How about a high-res?”
And people on social media loved it, of course.
“I’m here for her [Teigen’s] comment,” one user posted.
“Girl, you don’t need high-res!,” another said.
But Teigen wasn’t done there. Since, you know, you only celebrate your birthday once a year, and, let’s be fair, it’s a day meant for you and you only.
So she’s been mock outraged to find some news outlets have focused on other celebrities – specifically, a cartoon called Mr. Krabs.
The character, also known as SpongeBob SquarePants’ boss, received a birthday shout-out from Good Morning America on Twitter yesterday:
“Today, November 30th, is Mr. Krabs’ birthday. Happy 75th birthday, Eugene.”
Teigen was less than impressed that they’d failed to send some birthday love her way too, replying simply:
And Good Morning America saw the funny side by sending Teigen multiple replies:
“Happy birthday, Chrissy Teigen!”
Followed by a second message:
“Here’s a tiny food birthday cake.
“Please note we did not make one for Mr. Krabs.”
Happy birthday, Chrissy.
