Details of the third and fourth episode of Doctor Who’s new season have been released – and one of the episodes features civil rights hero Rosa Parks.

The episode ’Rosa’ finds the Doctor and her companions travelling back to Alabama in the Fifties, where they meet Parks. But it seems like someone is trying to change the course of history by disrupting the activist’s famous protest, where she refused to give up a seat to a white passenger.

And in ‘Arachnids in the UK’, which stars Sex and the City’s Chris Noth, the gang travel to Sheffield where they find something fishy going on with the city’s spiders.

’Rosa’ is the first episode of the show written by a person of colour – writer Malorie Blackman.

Blackman is best known for being the author of Noughts and Crosses and Pig-Heart Boy, and has written over 60 books for young people.

“I’ve always loved Doctor Who,” she said when the episode was announced. “Getting the chance to write for this series has definitely been a dream come true.”
