Despite women not being allowed to rise up the ranks in the medical profession, Nightingale refused to be side-lined and actively encouraged better training for nurses (who were all female).

And Moss firmly believes her story is still relevant today “because nothing much has changed”.

“She believed in getting things done,” Moss said of Nightingale, which is why the highly influential nurse went on to found the Nightingale Training School for Nurses in 1860 at St Thomas’ in London and was awarded for her great work by Queen Victoria.

The film is expected to be directed by Jeremy Lovering, who worked on the BBC’s Doctor Foster.

We can’t wait to see what Moss brings to the table with this one.
