Did the model really not enjoy the five episodes she made of the sitcom back in season six?
You remember the one about the guest star who hated her time on a smash-hit television show, right?
That was the story surrounding Elle Macpherson’s cameo on Friends, which ran over five episodes back in season six. The Australian supermodel starred as Janine Lacroix, the glamazon who moves into Joey’s apartment and starts dating him, much to the ire of Monica and Chandler. Nothing comes between friends, though, so after five episodes of antagonism Janine was out and the equilibrium between Chandler and Joey was back to normal again.
Macpherson was one in a long, long line of celebrity cameos on the hit series. Everyone from Brad Pitt - then dating Jennifer Aniston - to Dermot Mulroney and Paul Rudd appeared in their very own episodes. But in 2016 Macpherson told TV Week magazine that she had serious regrets about taking on the role. (Though she did admit that Matt LeBlanc was a “great working partner” and a “good kisser”.)

Cut to today and Macpherson wants to set the record straight. Speaking to Australia’s news.com.au, the 54-year-old model and entrepreneur said: “I never said I regretted appearing in Friends.”
“What I said was, had I known how successful it was before going [on], I think I would have chickened out because it was such an iconic show and I probably wouldn’t have felt up to the job.”
“But fortunately I went, I took a risk, I didn’t know how big of a risk I was taking, and I had the most incredible experience.”
Macpherson was asked by producers to film more episodes and extend the run of her character on the show, but the model declined because she was living in London at that point and the toll of traveling between Los Angeles and the UK became too much for her.
We miss you, Friends!
However, if the Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey decided to reunite and reboot the series, Macpherson said she would be the first one through the door. “Yeah, definitely,” she told news.com.au, when asked if she would appear in a potential reboot.
Hollywood producers, let’s make this happen!
