Emma Watson beatboxing for gender equality is the best thing you'll see today

Emma Watson has pulled out her sickest beat in the name of gender equality.

The 25-year-old actress and activist stepped outside of her comfort zone - way, way out - to act as a human beatbox for American actor and rapper Lin-Manuel Miranda's gender equality ditty.

Watson and Miranda are showing off their skills in a video to support UN Women's HeForShe campaign, of which Watson is a vocal supporter. Though not usually this vocal.

It takes some encouragement but the actress finally gets into beatboxing position - hand over her mouth to act as a "spit guard"  - and throws herself into the role.

She can be seen turning as "red as a tomato" as she provides the beats while Miranda raps: "Yo, it's Lin and I have to laugh, how can we not be equal, we're like half. Like women are half of the people on Earth. And yes they should've been equal since birth. That means all day, every day, equal pay, every way."

Warning: At times, this video can be difficult to watch...
