Fan theories are almost never confirmed, generally because they’re so out there (or so depressing, in some cases) that they just don’t make sense.

However, fans of Gilmore Girls have just been handed a tasty tidbit on a silver platter, courtesy of one of the cast members, who just admitted this particular fan theory is 100% correct.

Ahead of the much-anticipated reunion miniseries landing on Netflix (25 November, for the guilty lapsed among you), Aris Alvarado took to Twitter to tell a fan that she was right in thinking he’d popped up in the show during the first series, thus confirming his character chef Caesar attended the same school as Rory Gilmore.

Alvarado later took part in a panel at the Gilmore Girls Fan Festival in Washington Depot (the real town that the show’s fictional Stars Hollow is based on) in Connecticut, and explained further.

As reports, he told the crowd: “That was Caesar.

“It’s funny because [the internet] just discovered that. I’ve been waiting, I never wanted to say anything [so I could] see who was going to find me one day!”

In an episode called Rory’s Dance, Caesar pops up in a scene at Chilton Preparatory School. In later seasons, he is seen working at Luke’s Diner.

Alvarado goes on: “Three years later, you see me working at Luke’s, so I’m like 20 years old, 21 at the time.”

With this news arriving around the same time as the potentially mind-blowing idea of an alternate universe wherein Ryan Gosling starred on the show, it's a lot for a fan to take in.

Alvarado will rejoin Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) in next month’s four-part series, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
