Hillary Clinton expertly trolls Trump’s Syria letter on Twitter, and beats him at his own game

Hillary Clinton trolled Trump over a letter he sent to the Turkish president, and the result was truly epic.

Can somebody get Donald Trump some aloe vera please? Because he just got well and truly burned.

And Hillary Clinton is the one bringing the heat.

Trump’s former rival and ex-Democratic nominee took to Twitter on Sunday to openly troll the US president about his recent correspondence with Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

For background, the October 16 letter from Trump, which urged the Turkish president to “not be a tough guy” or a “fool” over the invasion of northern Syria, was met with disbelief when it was released to the public last week, not least for its strikingly loose and unpresidential tone.

The correspondence was deemed so peculiar, in fact, that the White House was forced to confirm its legitimacy after widespread speculation it might have been a hoax. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Of course, by now we’re used to seeing the president go rogue on Twitter, but this felt like a new low.

Clinton thought so too. Doubling-down on the embarrassing, though not entirely uncharacteristic, communication, she tweeted a deliciously mocking parody letter, purportedly from former President John F Kennedy to Russia’s Nikita Krushchev in relation to the Cuban missile crisis, which took on a similarly blasé tone.

“Dear Premier Khrushchev,” the spoof letter began. “Don’t be a dick, OK?”

It continued: “Get your missiles out of Cuba. Everybody will say, ‘Yay, Khrushchev! You’re the best!’ But if you don’t everybody will be like ‘what an asshole’ and call your garbage country ‘The Soviet Bunion’.

“You’re really busting my nuts here. Give you a jingle later. Hugs, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.”

What’s more remarkable is that, at least for now, Trump has remained uncharacteristically dormant about Clinton’s barb - though, her followers had some thoughts.

“Hillary Clinton is also a boss at Twitter. Who knew?” one person wrote.

“Viva Hillary! #HillaryDestroyedTrump #HillarySlaysTrump” added another.

Even actress and comedian Kathy Griffin came out in support, tweeting: “I LOVE HER. BAD B**CH.”

This isn’t the first time Clinton has read the room. Much to the delight of Twitter, in August, Lizzo tweeted a clip showing Clinton standing alongside four male candidates in which the singer’s “Truth Hurts” was playing in the background.

Clinton responded to the tweet, writing: “I just took a DNA test, turns out…”

That’s right, Hillary is 100% that bitch.
