Forgive us SJP, but we’ve been toyed with before.

This time last year, the Hocus Pocus cast were ramping up speculation on Twitter about another film, and the year before that, Bette Midler said she and her co-stars were all up for it.

Just last week, Midler said she couldn't understand “why there's not a sequel”.

And where is our follow-up?

Now Sarah Jessica Parker has unequivocally stated her position on the witchy reunion, as well as on whether they should make another Sex and the City film, telling “I'm down for both!

“It would be amazing if we could do both in one year!”

Right, we admire your enthusiasm. We really do. But it’s been years now and we’ve had nothing but some Twitter chats and Midler’s (admittedly impressive) recent Halloween outfit (below) – something even Parker referred to as “just stirring up a trouble”.

She went on to admit there had been no “substantive” discussions around a follow-up film to the 1993 original, in which she starred alongside Midler and Kathy Najimy.

However, we probably can’t blame the actors for continuing to raise our hopes. As Midler said in 2014, it’s down to people power because the three stars “have no say” – so if they keep us taking about it, Disney might listen.

As for a third SATC, Parker said earlier this year that a reunion could be a film or a new series, revealing, “I don’t think any of us have said no [...] I think that’s always a possibility, definitely.”

No offence, but back to Hocus Pocus: come on, Disney – we know you've got a lot on your plate, what with all the live-action remakes and Beauty and the Beast's feminist overhaul and all, but this is shooting fish in a barrel. Let us know, we'll be here...
