Jameela Jamil is hell-bent on encouraging women to celebrate themselves in every way possible in 2018.

Which is why Jamil is calling out body-shaming whenever and wherever she sees it – starting with social media.

Earlier this year, The Good Place actress launched an Instagram account, I Weigh, in a bid to get women to “feel valuable and see how amazing we are, and look beyond the flesh on our bones”. The inspirational account places value on women’s achievements and values - rather than how many kilograms they weigh.

Because if there is one thing Jamil has well and truly had enough of it’s women being measured by and focusing on their weight across social media platforms. And, of course, Jamil kicked things off by sharing her own ‘weight’.

Across a selfie, she wrote on Instagram: “I weigh: Lovely relationship. Great friends. I laugh every day. I love my job. I make an honest living. I’m financially independent. I speak out for women’s rights. I like my bingo wings. I like myself in spite of EVERYTHING I’ve been taught by the media to hate myself about. F*****g KG.”
