Jamie Dornan reveals there's no full nudity in Fifty Shades film

Those who enjoyed the Fifty Shades of Grey books for the erotica rather than the storyline may be a little disappointed with the big screen version, as the film will not be "gratuitous" or "graphic" according to its leading man.

In an interview over the weekend, Jamie Dornan, who stars as Christian Grey, revealed he even has a contract in place to ensure no full-frontal nudity ends up in the final cut.

When asked how explicit the film would be, he said: "You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don’t want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic.

“Sam [Taylor-Johnson, the director] is a very bright woman, so there might be some suggestive elements to it, but I haven’t seen it at this stage, so it is hard for me to say. I’m aware of what we shot, and it wasn’t as if we shot a film without any action... There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn’t be seeing my, um…”

Prompted by a suggestion from the interviewer, the actor ended his sentence with, “Yeah, my todger.”

Despite his past as a model - which he described as a lot of having to "lean against a wall while looking depressed” - and his casting as Mr. Grey, a character lusted after by millions, Jamie, 32, insisted he was less of a hit with the ladies in his school days - and used to hate being called "cute".

“I didn’t do particularly well with girls at school. I was always very young-looking. And my sister’s friends would always say: ‘You’re so cute.’ I f*****g hated that. If you are a skinny, baby-faced teenager, the last thing you want to hear is that you’re cute.”

Jamie, who is married to singer-songwriter and fellow actor Amelia Warner, also spoke about the awkwardness of sex scenes in front of a film crew. “Anyone who thinks actors get turned on doing sex scenes in films is mistaken. There are dozens of hairy men standing around, moving cables and lighting equipment. That’s not sexy unless you’re into being watched, which I’m not.”

The Fifty Shades of Grey film is set for release in the UK on Valentine's Day next year.
