One of the best memes to come out of the 2018 Oscars was that video of Jennifer Garner having an epiphany all on camera – and the actress has now had her say on the viral clip.
During this year’s Academy Awards show, the cameras – as ever – panned through the audience of famous guests, all of them applauding their peers furiously.
However, viewers were left absolutely baffled when the camera landed on Jennifer Garner: one moment, she was clapping and smiling like everyone else. The next, a look of horror had inexplicably washed over her and her applause died on her hands.
Naturally, the Twitterverse was soon flooded with theories.

It wasn’t long before people began to wonder whether Garner – an avid social media user herself – had noticed that she’d become a meme.
Well, as it turns out, Garner doesn’t just know about the memes – she’s actually joined in the fun and given some suggestions as to what was on her mind at that moment.
“Congrats to Shape of Water. Maybe I should date a fish,” Garner joked on social media.
Then referring to her Capital One Venture card commercials, she added: “Hey, Jimmy Kimmel, what’s in your wallet? Wait, where is my wallet?”
Lastly, Garner gave a shout-out to Girls creator and star Lena Dunham. “Can’t wait to work with Lena Dunham. Wait, did I sign a nudity waiver?” she asked.
It’s worth noting that this final joke is particularly relevant, as Garner is returning to TV on Dunham and Jenni Konner’s upcoming HBO series Camping.
When asked about the show on the red carpet, Garner said: “I am so excited. I met with Lena and Jenni this morning, and we were geeking out about how excited we are to all be together.
“They said they have a ton of physical comedy for me to do, and I just can’t wait to be a part of a group people going to work to laugh all day…
“I’m really ready to go to work and laugh.”
The sitcom – which marks Garner’s first TV show since Alias ended in 2006 – is based on a UK show of the same name and will see the actress play a woman who’s trying to plan a beautiful 45th birthday weekend for her husband.
However, what is supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature winds up a “weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten”, according to Variety.
We can’t wait.
