Since announcing their decision to divorce back in June 2015, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have repeatedly spoken publicly about the importance of putting their children first.

The pair, who were married for 10 years, have three children together: Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4.

Now, Garner, 44, has again spoken out on her efforts to co-parent with Affleck, 44, by describing how they both make an effort to teach their children about the various charities they support.

"It's so important that you model for your kids how to be a citizen of the world, and I think that's the very best thing you can do," Garner told Entertainment Tonight.

"That's really important at home, to make sure that our kids know that we both have causes that we care so much about... That we dedicate time, resources, and our energy toward making our own little slice of the world a little bit better," she added.

Garner had previously spoken out about the importance of co-parenting to Vanity Fair magazine, saying that throughout their divorce, "the main thing is these kids—and we’re completely in line with what we hope for them."

The actress also opened up on her feelings about her ex-husband, and the rumours that he had had an affair, by saying, “People have pain - they do regrettable things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain. No one needs to hate him for me. I don’t hate him. Certainly we don’t have to beat the guy up. Don’t worry - my eyes were wide open during the marriage.”

"Sure, I lost the dream of dancing with my husband at my daughter’s wedding," she added. "But you should see their faces when he walks through the door. And if you see your kids love someone so purely and wholly, then you’re going to be friends with that person.”

Affleck himself has also spoken out about co-parenting, telling Entertainment Tonight earlier this month that the pair "try [their] best".
