Jennifer Lawrence has something prepared for if/when she meets Donald Trump…
Jennifer Lawrence previously drew a connection between Donald Trump and the catastrophic series of hurricanes that blighted Texas and Florida earlier this year. Indeed, she has been a vocal critic since he launched his presidential campaign in 2015.
Now the Hollywood Reporter has published an interview with Lawrence (conducted by Oprah Winfrey) and among other things — including the Weinstein scandal and gender pay gap — she talks about what she would do if she ever crossed paths with Trump.
Describing how her political passion has “almost turned into an obsession”, she says “I don’t think you ever do feel settled, [but] as soon as you feel settled with your home and your personal life, you’re looking at the world and going, ‘How in the hell do I fix this? What do we do?’”.
If she came face to face with Trump, she reveals: “I’ve got a pretty good speech. And it ends with a martini to the face”.
Lawrence goes on to elaborate: “I’ll give you a hint — it’s not nice. You wouldn’t want me to say it to you.”
Since the interview was published, Donald Trump Jr has piped up with a response to Lawrence’s ‘martini to the face’ comment, tweeting: “I’m pretty sure that’s not how it would end…”
The (slightly ominous) ambiguity of his response has left some Twitter users a little uneasy.
