Amal Clooney has a new fan in the form of Hollywood power player Julia Roberts.
The 47-year-old Oscar winner has given her seal of approval to George Clooney's humanitarian wife, whom he married in Venice last year.
"We went out to dinner. I met her at dinner," the Pretty Woman star told Extra TV this week.
"George doesn’t need my approval, but I’m quite enamoured with her."
This quiet word of praise from one of cinema's biggest stars is sure to please George, who recently described Amal, 37, as "an amazing human being" and "one of the smartest people I've ever met".
And it's been an affectionate week for Julia, who also spread the love when it came to Jodie Foster, who co-stars with her and George in their upcoming thriller Money Monster.
"George and I were pinching each other," she said of Jodie. "Like, ‘How did we end up with this brainiac girl?’ It was awesome!"
George and Julia's friendship dates back years; as well as working together on the Oceans franchise (and this new film), they're often pictured laughing and joking on the red carpet.
As well as paying tribute to the women in her life, Julia this week popped by the David Letterman show, to say goodbye to the legendary show host as he calls time on his 33-year career in TV.
Julia has appeared 26 times on the show throughout her momentous career, and each time she's shared a kiss with the anchorman - a tradition she shared one last time on Wednesday:
Welling up with tears, she told the show host; "I just wanted to say, David Letterman, I love you and I thank you for all of the joy and the laughing and the intelligence you have brought us for 33 years."
