Julia Stiles just tied the knot in a seriously beautiful “shotgun wedding”

Julia Stiles is the queen of keeping things low-key: earlier this year, the Riviera star confirmed her pregnancy with a “yes, so what?” (we paraphrase, but you get the gist) after a journalist shared a photo of her baby bump on Twitter.

And now Stiles has done it again with a seriously blasé and breezy wedding announcement.

Taking to Instagram, the 10 Things I Hate About You actor shared a photo of her partner, Preston J. Cook’s hand pressed against her pregnant belly. Her pregnant belly which is covered in a white and lacy boho dress.

Stiles can also be seen cradling her stomach in her own hands – the left of which, just like Cook’s, has been decked out with a brand-new wedding band.

But, just in case these weren’t big enough clues, Stiles made sure to caption her photo with a simple nuptials heads-up.

“Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding?” she wrote.

A rep for Stiles has since confirmed that the wedding took place over the weekend on a beach in Seattle, Washington. And it was a seriously intimate affair, too, with just two friends there to witness the special moment.

Stiles and Cook first met on the set of the 2015 film Blackway, where Cook was working as a camera assistant.

They announced their engagement on the 4 January the following year, when Stiles told People that Cook had proposed on Christmas Eve at a private residence in Isla Grande in Colombia.

“That's where we got engaged,” she said.

“All around, it was a really wonderful trip. We stayed on an island that was really beautiful and there was a lot of great snorkelling. The city was really nice, too, but because I live in the city the natural scenery was really great.”

Earlier this week, Stiles told that she’s “so excited” to be welcoming her first child this autumn.

“I’m due in fall – so pretty soon,” she said.

“I know it’s something that women have been doing for ages. but for me it’s the first time and I’m so happy and so excited.”

Stiles added: “We have a name that’s been passed around and it’s stuck, and now we’re used to using it. So yeah, we have a name and both sets of grandparents aren’t thrilled about the name – but I think they’ll come around.”
