Julia Stiles and her husband,  Preston Cook Jr., have welcomed their first child into the world.

Stiles took to Instagram to announce the birth of their baby boy and thank the “extraordinary” medical staff who helped with his delivery, as well as reveal her son’s gender-neutral name - Strummer Newcomb Cook.

Stiles wrote, “Strummer Newcomb Cook, born October 20, 2017. Thanks and ever thanks to the extraordinary Doctors, Nurses and staff at Mount Sinai for helping bring this utter joy into our lives.”

She also added a sweet quote: “Hello, World!”

The name Strummer is a rare one, and obviously has links to music.

The name Newcomb, on the other hand, is more popular. It is of Anglo Saxon origin, and literally translates to “newly come”.

The announcement of the name has been met with approval from Stiles’ fans, with one describing it as a “wonderful name”.

Congratulations to the new parents.
