Watch Kit Harrington give a Spice Girl a lesson in Game of Thrones

For all the things to love about Game of Thrones, there’s little its many fans appreciate more than a bit of Jon Snow action. And it appears Spice Girl Geri Halliwell feels the same.

What with his dark, piercing stare and that undulating northern accent, it’s no wonder that flame-haired Ygritte (Rose Leslie), fell for the brooding character, played by Kit Harrington (her real-life boyfriend).

But even with sparks flying between them, the wildling knew how to keep him in check, notably with one of the most famous lines to come out of the HBO hit show:

“You know nothing, Jon Snow.”

Yrgitte John Snow Game of Thrones

The woman who uttered the now famous catchphrase

And while Harrington’s character never utters the phrase himself (obviously), it appears that he was taking notes as he spent time over the weekend teaching Halliwell how to get it just right.

The pair met at the Monza Grand Prix in Italy on Sunday (3 September) and Halliwell took the opportunity to remind Harrington of his shortcomings.

Only, it turns out that it was Halliwell who knew nothing – at least as far as her northern pronunciation goes.

Watch the video below.

Halliwell shared a video clip of the exchange on Instagram, which went like this:

“You know nothing, Jon Snow!” Halliwell says in something not too dissimilar from her usual accent.

“You know nothing, Jon Snow,” she tries again.

Then Harrington steps in, showing her how it’s done.

“You know nothing, Jon Snow,” he says, in as serious a tone as he can muster.

Halliwell tries again, this time getting her long vowels and the deep tone just right. “Yeah. That’s it! You got the part!” Harrington exclaims.

Sadly though, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing Ginger Spice brushing shoulders with White Walkers in the next season of the show, as it seems her successful attempt was just a fluke.

Harrington wasn’t impressed with her final attempt, simply saying: “Now you’ve lost it again!”

Sorry and all that Geri, but we assume the door is now open for our own efforts…
