Kristen Bell takes to Twitter to share her brutally honest lessons and reflections on love and relationships on Valentine’s Day.

Kristen Bell has always been very open about the trials and tribulations of her 10-year relationship with her husband Dax Shepard. In short, she’s made sure to make one thing clear: it’s no easy feat.

Which is why Bell has continued the conversation by sharing her A-Z for maintaining a “healthy relationship” with Shepard. And let’s face it, the duo have managed to make it through an entire decade together in the public eye, so they must be onto something.

Inspired by a friend getting hitched, The Good Place actress took to Twitter to share some of the advice she’d written to the friend in a letter.

“I was writing a note to friends who were getting hitched. I wrote ‘congratulations’ then thought: ‘Kristen! Aren’t you old and married? Don’t you have any wisdom to share?!’ When I was done, I realised I’d written the A-Z of what keeps my marriage with Dax Shepard healthy,” Bell wrote.

And the list includes some true gems like the “necessary separateness” needed for a relationship to flourish and that in “10 years when the dopamine has waned, remember: life is a crazy ride. It’s a privilege to go through it with a partner.”

The actress added that “loving someone despite their faults, failings, or character defects, is the most powerful loving thing you can do.”

Bell goes on to reveal that you should “rejoice in what makes the other person happy, and allow them their individual interests.”

And most importantly not to forget “that everyone is doing the best they can with what they’ve got.”

Bell also shared a touching post on Instagram too with her millions of followers.

“To the man who I’ve known for an eternity yet learn new things about every day; who has been with me through thick and thin (and loved my 47 lbs of baby weight); who is as interested in PDA as I am; who tattooed my last name on his ring finger because he hates jewelry; who always puts up our Xmas lights; and who never fails to mock my red carpet pose. I love you with my whole heart,” Bell posted alongside a photo of her and her husband.

We’ve certainly taken note.
