Kylie Minogue on Michael Hutchence: 'it was a great love'

In a interview set to air this Sunday, Kylie Minogue has opened up about her feelings over the death of her former partner Michael Hutchence.

In the teaser for Australian show, 60 Minutes, the 46-year-old pop star said that her decision to be with the INXS front man was one she doesn't regret.

The two stars were together for two years in 1989 until he met model Helena Christensen, who he famously left the former Neighbours star for.

Despite the fact that the The Spinning Around singer was in a relationship with the late singer 25 years ago, she still got very emotional when discussing her time with him.

"I had so many firsts with him," she reveals. She also talks about the great love she has for the singer, and said that when the couple decided to part ways it was "true heartbreak".

While looking into the distance with tears in her eyes, she tells the interview how she'd "never met anyone like that".

Later, Hutchence met and fell in love with Paula Yates, who then left her husband Bob Geldof for him.

Tragically, Hutchence died in 1997 after committing suicide while Yates and Geldof were in a custody battle over their children. The legal fight meant that Hutchence wouldn't be able to see his daughter, 16-month-old Tiger Lily, at Christmas.

The detectives on the case said that they found evidence of a troubled man and that he was in a depressed state of mind. However, Yates always refused to believe this, and instead claimed it was a sex game gone wrong.

Tiger Lily was later adopted by Bob Geldof after Yates died of a drugs overdose.
