Madonna turns 61 today, and fans are celebrating her birthday on Twitter in a very big way.

“Happy 61st birthday to the woman who started it all. The one who changed pop music forever. The one whom the pop girls owe everything to. The one who inspired entire generations and fought for the LGBT community when no one else would. The one and only Queen of Pop,” tweeted one.

Another added: “It’s already August 16 here so which means.. Happy Birthday to the woman who became my Ray of Light, Madonna! May you reign long enough to show these basic bitches how it’s done.”

And even the London Underground paid tribute to the musical icon, taking pen to whiteboard in their now-famous manner.

”Express yourself like a ray of light,” their poster read. “Don’t be frozen on the borderline. Music can open your heart and get you into the groove; papa don’t preach or teach me about confessions on a dance floor. You make the salsa look like a dangerous game with every move, Dick Tracy was desperately seeking Susan so he could cherish her heart.”

Adhering to their time-old trick of referencing as many (in this case, Madonna) songs as possible, the London Underground’s @allontheboard poster continued: “When he found her in Hollywood, he told her, ’I’m crazy for you’; turn up the radio in a ghost town and have a celebration for human nature. We can play truth or dare, and vogue in a selfie or two. Cold callers are in a league of their own, after four minutes, I hung up the phone…”
