Controversy reigns in Buenos Aires where a Spanish memorabilia collector plans to auction a sex tape of Marilyn Monroe, shot while she was an aspiring and underage actress known as Norma Jean Baker.
Although Mikel Barsa is asking $500,000 (£309,000) for the explicit, seven-minute long, monochrome film, some Monroe experts insist the actress is a body double.
Collector Scott Fortner, said: “That’s not Marilyn. The chin isn’t the same, the lips aren’t the same, the teeth aren’t the same. Marilyn was a tiny little thing. And I know that for a fact. I own her clothing.”
Mr Barsa, who won’t say how he got the tape, said: “This film shows the real Marilyn – it was only later that the studios discovered her and transformed her.”
UPDATE: The auction on Sunday 7 August finished without a buyer, after the legendary actor's estate categorically denied the woman in the movie was Monroe.
