This summer marks 20 years since the release of Wannabe. And Mel B said yesterday that the anniversary of their debut single would be the perfect time for a Spice Girls reunion - with all five members of the band taking part.
"I think it’s our 20th year, so we’re going to be doing something at some point with, hopefully, all of us," she told the Press Association.
It's previously been reported that Posh Spice - who has, of course, long since morphed into fashion maven Victoria Beckham – was too busy to return to the band, and that Mel C was reluctant to perform without all the band together. Last March, Emma Bunton hinted that the band could reunite in 2016, but it was unclear whether Victoria would be involved.
So if talks are now underway for a reunion, that can only mean one thing: the Spice Girls. All of them. Together. Again.
"I think once you’ve had a taste of that you’ll always strive for that high," Mel B said. "I mean, there's nothing like getting up on stage and performing live to your fans and to a great crowd. You can't beat that. So I'm always wanting that feeling back."
Wannabe sold over six million copies worldwide, catapulting Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Posh into super-stardom, and introducing a generation of young girls to the concept of 90s Girl Power. Take a trip down memory lane by watching the video, below.
