Feast your eyes on a batch of beautiful unseen pictures of Kate Bush during her early years.
The distinctive portraits were taken by the singer's photographer brother John Carder Bush and form a new coffee table tome filled with shots that perfectly capture the enigmatic Wuthering Heights star from childhood through to the start of her career.
"Maybe it is the brother-sister connection that makes the pictures I took of her distinctive," Carder Bush tells The Observer. "It may also have something to do with where the photos were taken: it was always where we were living. I would turn a room into a studio, piling my kids’ bikes and toys into a corner to make way for the backcloth and the studio lights."
Kate: Inside the Rainbow also features two essays by Carder Bush describing the pair's shared childhood and his experiences photographing the singer.
The book is sure to please die-hard fans of the woman who famously refuses to share her private life with the media. Little has been heard of the 57-year-old since her stage comeback last year, a 22-date London gig that sold out in 15 minutes.
Kate: Inside the Rainbow (£40) is published today by Sphere, which has shared a handful of the collection with Stylist.co.uk...
