Pippa Middleton in £400,000 book deal

Pippa Middleton has reportedly signed a £400,000 deal with Penguin to pen a book on party planning.

The guide, titled How to Be the Perfect Party Hostess, will be released in time for next Christmas and will feature recipes and anecdotes for a range of occasions.

"It will be about entertaining and how to throw the perfect party. It's not just about being the perfect hostess – it will also include recipes and information about how to host different types of events," a source told the Daily Mail. "Pippa has been sketching out the chapters and has decided to start each one with an amusing anecdote."

Pippa will draw on her experience as a party planner for London-based company Table Talk to create the tome and is said to want to write it herself, as opposed to using a ghost writer.

The six-figure sum came about as a result of a bidding war between publishers for rights to the guide.

According to the Telegraph, there were some negotiations over the timing of the book, with Pippa's people keen to avoid the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations next summer and thus any speculation that Pippa may be trying cashing in on her royal connections.

The 28-year-old has shot to fame since appearing as her sister Kate's bridesmaid during the royal wedding in April. A replica of her dress by McQueen is currently on sale online for a modest £1,995.
